Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has taken to Twitter to send a message to Brentford’s Josh Dasilva, after Tottenham’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win over the Bees.
The two men had a bit of a coming together in the final stages of Tuesday’s semi-final clash.
Former Arsenal man Dasilva lunged in on the Dane in dangerous fashion, a challenge which Mike Dean deemed a red card offence.
Højbjerg’s shin pad shattered as a result of the studs-up lunge, while TV cameras picked up plenty of blood streaming from the wound.
In fairness to Dasilva, it genuinely looks like he lost his footing.

After full-time, the 22-year-old took to Twitter to profess his innocence, and none other than Højbjerg replied – seemingly keen to put the situation behind him.

This is very commendable from Tottenham’s No.5.
In truth, the Denmark international’s leg could’ve been broken by the tackle, so he would’ve had every right to feel a bit sour towards Dasilva.

However, to openly come out and diffuse the tension, while also praising the Englishman, just shows the type of character Højbjerg is.
Tottenham have got themselves a fine leader, who embodies much of what’s good about the game.
