It looks like Jermain Defoe is on board with the prospect of Tottenham Hotspur signing one of his former team-mates.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the relegated Bournemouth striker over the past few weeks.

And on August 6 it was reported by The Daily Star that Tottenham believe Wilson would be open to the idea of moving to North London this summer.

Defoe played alongside Wilson for the Dean Court club once upon a time, while the Rangers marksman is also a legendary figure at the Lilywhites.

Both players were involved in an Instagram exchange earlier today, which ended with Defoe writing: “U going to Spurs or what bro” followed by a winky face emoji.

Jose Mourinho is definitely going to sign a new striker this summer, but as a back-up to Harry Kane.

With Troy Parrott being loaned to Millwall, that’s a clear sign that Tottenham are going to bolster their attacking options up front.

But Wilson is valued at £20 million by the Cherries and it remains to be seen if Spurs go that big with trying to sign a Kane back-up.
