Simon Jordan told talkSPORT (09/08/21 at 1:55 pm) that Leed United won’t finish in Europe ahead of the new Premier League season.
That was a claim made by talkSPORT presenter Jim White, who thinks Leeds can have a ‘cracking’ season and head towards Europe.
Under the stewardship of Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds supporters will be dreaming even bigger now after finishing in the top ten last season.
But whilst radio host White backed them for a European charge, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan warned them about getting ‘worked out’.
“I have a feeling about Leeds,” said White. “I think Leeds surprised a lot of people last season. I am not saying they will finish higher than Manchester United. I think they could have a cracking season.
“I think a cracking season is Europe. It could lead to Europe. There is excitement in that part of the world. Bielsa has brought them along a lot. And more to bring.”
“People will know a lot more about Leeds than they did a year before,” said Jordan. “What happens is that you do get worked out. Teams like Swansea, who came up and caused teams a bit of a surprise and people started to work them out. And Sheffield United.
“Whilst Bielsa brings something unique, you need to have more than one trick in the Premier League. I am not suggesting that Leeds aren’t compelling viewing. But to suggest they will be in Europe, we need to see a few other teams have an average season for Leeds to occupy that spot.”

Towards the back end of last season, Leeds improved immensely from a defensive standpoint and that will stand them in good stead next season.
Even on a bad day, the Yorkshire side can cause havoc to many opposition teams because of their 100 miles per hour style.
But if they can continue those strong defensive performances ahead of the new campaign then Europe will be a pretty realistic target.
