Arsenal fans have reminded Cesc Fabregas that he played Chelsea after he responded to a question about whether or not he would play for Tottenham.
The Monaco midfielder, who made a name for himself at Arsenal before indirectly joining Chelsea many years later, stated on Twitter ‘you know the answer mate’ when asked whether he would retire or play for Spurs.
It’s pretty obvious that Fabregas was hinting at the fact that he would rather retire than don the colours of Arsenal’s North London rivals.
But given that he has already played for two London clubs, it seems as though a certain section of the Arsenal support don’t believe him.
Whilst Arsenal’s biggest rivals will always be Spurs – and vice versa – the rivalry between those at the Emirates and those at Stamford Bridge is still fierce and has grown in recent years with the latter’s success.
At Chelsea, Fabregas is highly-regarded amongst their supporters, but that’s not the case with every Arsenal fan.
Whilst some still remember him fondly, others seemingly cannot forgive or forget that he did end up playing for Chelsea.
Either way, Arsenal would love a player of Fabregas’ qualities in their team now because they lack that control, leadership and creative talent their fans crave so much.
