Alexandre Lacazette has joked to Mohamed Elneny on his Instagram that he has ‘destroyed the pitch’ as Arsenal trained on the Emirates Stadium pitch this week.
Arsenal’s midfield cruncher posted a few snaps on his Instagram from training, including Elneny being on the opposing team to Lacazette.
In the comments section of Elneny’s post, Lacazette posted: “You destroyed the pitch, bro.” added with laughing emojis.
The last time Lacazette was out on the Emirates pitch, he was playing his part in his side scoring a last-minute winner against Wolves.
It was a vital and possible season-defining three points for Mikel Arteta’s side because it was against their Champions League-chasing rivals.
Not only would that win have boosted the club’s own hopes, but it would have also dented Wolves’ chances.
But there is still a long way to go for the Gunners because they have a fight on their hands if they want a top-four finish.
Manchester United are currently leading that charge, but given that they have played more games, it’s hard to really gauge who is in control of this race.
For Arteta and his players, they can only continue plugging away as they face off against relegation-threatened Watford on Sunday.
Roy Hodgson’s side provided the London club with a helping hand last time out because they held Manchester United to a goalless draw at Old Trafford.
