Gabriel Martinelli has praised Nuno Tavares on Instagram after the Arsenal defender introduced himself to Marseille fans in fine style.
Arsenal loaned out their left-back to the French giants and he wasted no time in showcasing, not his defending qualities, but his scoring skills.
The 22-year-old netted a brilliant goal during Marseille’s 4-1 win over Stade Reims on Sunday to make the perfect start to life in Ligue 1.

With Oleksandr Zinchenko signed up by Arsenal this summer, and added with first-team regular, Kieran Tierney, it then pushed Tavares back in the left-back pecking order.
It was obvious that he needed to develop his game elsewhere and earn regular minutes because he wasn’t going to get much under Mikel Arteta.
Well, he will be getting that now as Martinelli told Tavares in the comments section of his IG post ‘You deserve it a lot’, after his debut goal, whilst Emile Smith Rowe added ‘let’s go’.
CAN TAVARES FOLLOW IN SALIBA’S FOOTSTEPS?
As Arsenal fans witnessed on Friday night, Saliba looks a different animal now and someone ready to become a regular in the club’s backline.
The France international was loaned out to Marseille last season and that spell did him the world of good in his development.
With Tavares now going down that same road, he will be hoping to have a similar impact and return to London a different player.
Last season, he showed glimpses of what he is capable of and there was promise on the table, but when it came to those crunch moments, he did struggle.
But this is where he can refine a few parts of his game and come back next summer banging on Arteta’s door because if he does make huge improvements, then Arsenal’s squad will only become stronger, as a result.
