Some Liverpool fans don’t seem to be all that impressed with Timo Werner’s start to life in the Premier League.

The Reds were heavily linked with a move for the former Leipzig hitman for much of the summer.

But Liverpool refused to budge on the German club’s valuation and he wound up joining Chelsea in a £47 million deal.

The Germany international had endured an underwhelming first two league games – including one against Jurgen Klopp’s side last week – and it was more of the same for Werner last night as the Blues drew 3-3 at West Bromwich Albion.

The player, who earns £272,000 per week in West London, missed a great chance to score but hit the bar and looked like a passenger for long spells out wide, as Tammy Abraham was given the nod up front.

And here’s what Liverpool fans were tweeting to their former target after the game:

Will he get better? Undeniably.

It’s a culture shock for many foreign imports, the Premier League, and for a lot of them it can take a little while to get used to the speed and the physicality of the English game.

But once he does, you might not find many Liverpool fans still claiming that they’ve dodged a bullet.
