Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been sharing some of his observations regarding Harry Kane after Spurs’ return to Premier League action against Brentford.
This was a seminal game for Kane. It was his first time playing after his penalty miss against France at the World Cup that cost England the chance to reach the semi-finals.
As ever, Spurs fans were supportive of their star man, sounding their appreciation for Kane from the stands and making it known that he has their backing all the way after his disappointment in Qatar.
After the game, Gold noted that Kane was touched by the Spurs fans’ actions, stating that he went over the applaud the travelling fans by himself, claiming that their support had touched a chord with the striker.

Kane had a moment
Gold shared what he noticed about Kane and the fans.
“Before kick-off they were singing ‘one of our own’ and all of this and you could see that meant something to him. After the game he went over and he had a moment by himself. The other players came but he was way ahead of everyone. He applauded the fans, it’s clearly something that struck a chord with him,” Gold said.
Means a lot
This must mean a lot to Harry Kane.
The attacker must have had the worst few weeks of his life after missing that penalty against France.
He’ll have replayed that moment in his head hundreds of times, and he’s received all sorts of abuse after the incident.
However, this reminder that he’s perhaps the most beloved player in Spurs history will give him a huge boost, and his goal will have helped his confidence infinitely.
Let’s hope that Kane can put that penalty behind him and show why he’s one of the best strikers in this league’s history.
