Michael Dawson has told Super Sunday on Sky Sports (15/08/21 at 1:10 pm) that he doesn’t think Harry Kane will feature for Tottenham against Manchester City today.
This summer’s transfer saga, aside from Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona for PSG, has been dominated about Kane possibly leaving Spurs for Man City.
He joined his Tottenham teammates at Hotspur Way for the first time on Friday, so that rules out him starting.
But there are some thinking that he might be on the bench in a few hours time and the England captain possibly coming off the bench against the club that wants to sign him.
However, Tottenham ambassador and former centre-back Dawson dropped this claim live on Sky today.
“I don’t expect to see him today,” said Dawson. “Pre-season, you have six weeks. We know as ex-players it’s gruelling.
“You can’t come in after two or three days and expect to play at this level. This is top and where you want to be. I don’t think he will play.”

In truth, from Tottenham’s perspective, they are probably better off leaving Kane out altogether because of the drama surrounding him.
Even if he is on the bench, how many minutes could he play from a realistic standpoint? Possibly ten at best?
Yes, that might be enough for him to make an impact and score a possible winning goal.
But this saga is affecting Spurs more because he is their best player still being touted to move with weeks remaining of this summer’s transfer window.
