Pep Lijnders has stated that ‘you can’t call Caoimhin Kelleher a talent anymore’, as he told his Liverpool pre-match press conference.

The Liverpool assistant coach was refusing to share who will start in goal for tonight’s League Cup showdown against Arsenal.

Chelsea have already booked their place in the final and now Jurgen Klopp’s men head to London after recording a goalless draw in the first leg.

Usually, the likes of Kelleher or Adrian have started League Cup games, with Alisson taking a step back from Premier League duty.

But last week, it was the Brazil international who started in between the sticks for the Reds.

Lijnders was asked who is going to start between the trio at the Emirates, and rather than announce who it will be, he instead praised all three players that are in contention.

“It’s good that we have three really good goalkeepers,” said Lijnders. “Every time he( Adrian) played, he saved our a**e.

“Caoimhin, massive talent, you can’t call him a talent anymore. But he has all the characteristics we want from a Liverpool goalkeeper. He is calm. He can play. Amazing shot-stopper.

“He has the personality to not be involved for 60 minutes and then be able to make a crucial save. Somebody who can play with a lot of space in front of him.

“Then we have Ali (Alisson Becker). Nothing to say, he is our Brazilian cat and he’s everything you want from a goalkeeper. The best keeper in the world. So, we are happy with all three of them and let’s see who starts.”

More than likely, it will probably be Alisson who dons the gloves given that he started the first leg.

Although, if it’s not him, then it’s Liverpool’s young rising Irish star that will fill in for the club’s number one.

Arsenal, with ten men for most of the game, managed to keep a clean sheet at Anfield and they will be backing themselves to do the business in front of their own fans.

Whilst Klopp and his players saw off Brentford on Sunday, it was a weekend off for the Gunners, who saw their north London derby against Tottenham postponed and it will be interesting if that has any effect on tonight’s match.
