Ian Wright has claimed that ‘you can’t not be jealous’ of what Tottenham have produced in the 2022 summer transfer window by adding that it is ‘frightening’ by what they have done, as he told Wrighty’s House.
The Highbury legend added that Tottenham are going to ’cause problems’ next season, after securing Champions League football last time out and now Antonio Conte being backed by Daniel Levy.
Richarlison has been the latest name to have been added to the club’s ever-growing squad, with Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster the other captures.
It doesn’t seem like Spurs are going to be stopping there anytime soon though because a few defensive players in Djed Spence and Clement Lenglet could also be on their way.
Nonetheless, when talking about Tottenham’s transfer business, this is what Wright had to say about those from the other side of north London.
“I feel Tottenham are going to cause problems,” said Wright. “You can’t not be jealous of that summer, especially coming from the other side of north London.
“They are frightening man. Everything we are doing at Arsenal, and I am putting on as my armour. But we have done this. We have Vieira. We have two number 10’s now. And we are still trying for Tielemans. And we have Gabriel Jesus.
“So, you are trying to arm yourself because the Tottenham fans are saying ‘well, we kind of have Bissouma now, Richarlison, Kane, then Bentancur is going to kick in and we have seen what Romero is about’.
“When you look at how Tottenham can flex when they are doing it under this manager, it kind of makes me feel ______.”

Whilst Spurs fans will be dreaming of bigger and better things next season, one thing they have to maintain is securing top-four football.
With Conte in the dugout, the business they have conducted and the firepower on display, they should be one of the favourites for those third and fourth spots.
But can the Italian, who has won trophies everywhere he has been, end that drought at Hotspur Way? Well, Jose Mourinho couldn’t, although, he was sacked one week before the League Cup final.
However, this is Tottenham’s best chance to stick their chest out and really motor forward with their new boss, whose contract at the club expires next summer.
Harry Kane also has a few years left on his deal, so perhaps the best piece of business the club can do is for those two to commit their future for the long-term.
