Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Toby Alderweireld’s comments about leaving the club this summer.

The 32-year-old told Het Laatste Nieuws that he couldn’t ‘refuse the adventure’ of moving to Qatar.

He also admitted that there were ‘financial’ motives behind joining Al-Duhail and another reason was to spend more time with his family because he has seen ‘very little’ of his two children.

Alderweireld was a popular figure in North London and perhaps one of Tottenham’s better players last season during a campaign of struggle.
