Leeds United have been linked with the Adama Traore, and the fans saw what he is capable of last Friday evening when he lined up for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Wolves got the better of Leeds 1-0 at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League last Friday evening.
Leeds United interest
Traore played a big role in the only goal of the game in the 64th minute. The former Aston Villa and Barcelona winger went for glory with a thunderous effort from outside the box. It came back off the frame of the Leeds goal, hit the back of Illan Meslier’s head, and went in.
According to a report in Eurosport this month, Leeds are keen on signing the 25-year-old and are likely to make a bid for him in the summer of 2021, with the club’s director of football Victor Orta a big fan of him.
Martin Keown’s Analysis
Martin Keown and Gary Lineker discussed Traore on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:23pm, February 20, 2021).
Former Arsenal star Keown pointed out an amazing stat which seems to have stunned him and ex-Tottenham Hotspur striker Lineker.
Keown said: “I love watching this player (Traore) play. You cannot believe there’s no goals in 43 matches in the Premier League and no assists this season. That doesn’t go down as an assist.”
Lineker responded by saying: “That’s outrageous.”
Keown added: “It is. It’s a brilliant effort. He’s so powerful and quick and it’s just him finding his best football and he hasn’t been able to do that this season. That will help him.”

Need to improve?
Traore is a very good player who can be very threatening in one-on-ones, but the winger is not scoring enough goals.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old has scored no goal or provided any assist in 24 Premier League games this season, and scored four goals and provided nine assists in 37 league matches in 2019-20.
The winger does need to score more goals and give more assists, and perhaps under Leeds head coach Bielsa, he would get better in that side of his game.
