Leon Osman has told BBC Sport that he noticed just how emotional Carlo Ancelotti looked after Everton beat Southampton on Monday night.
Everton ran out 1-0 winners over the Saints earlier this week, to give their top six chances a big boost.
The match was hardly a classic, and Everton didn’t quite manage to find top gear throughout.
However, the performance the Toffees put in was enough to earn them a hugely valuable three points.
And even the usually cool Ancelotti struggled to keep his calm with his response at full-time.
“Everton didn’t do much – but they were very assured and they know how to defend,” Osman said. “You can see by the emotion I’ve just seen from Carlo Ancelotti you can see how much these three points mean.”
Ancelotti’s passionate response at full-time was understandable, as his side now are really pushing for a European spot.

Both the Italian boss and Dominic Calvert-Lewin spoke after the game, and would not play down Everton’s chances of making the top four.
The Toffees take on West Bromwich Albion on Thursday evening, and if they are able to win against the relegation strugglers then they could move into the Champions League spots.
