Harry Kane has lauded the qualities of reported Liverpool target Jadon Sancho and shared he is someone who likes to ‘express’ himself in training, as he told Joe’s official YouTube channel.

Come the summer, Sancho may well be sharing the same right flank as Liverpool’s attack-minded fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold, that’s if Gareth Southgate decides to give him that sought-after England ticket.

But with Liverpool seemingly interested in Sancho’s services, it will be interesting to see if a potentially strong European Championship campaign this summer increases his chances of leaving Dortmund.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has previously claimed that Liverpool are looking at the 21-year-old trickster.

And coupled with the likes of Mason Mount, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden, England’s captain lauded the qualities of Sancho, alongside those other stars when he has trained alongside them at St George’s Park.

“They are great players,” said Kane. “Jadon (Sancho), Phil (Foden), Mason (Mount), Jack (Rice) and Dec (Rice).

“We have so many good young players coming through and they have been in the squad for a while now. You can see it in training.

“They want to be on the ball. They want to express themselves and it’s the same on the pitch, so we have a great squad. We have a great mixture of young talent and experienced players who have had a couple of tournaments as well.”

If Liverpool can secure Champions League football when the final ball is kicked this season then it will save their injury-hit campaign that has gone wrong on many occasions this term.

But it will be interesting to see which direction those in the Anfield boardroom take and whether they will be looking to refresh their forward areas.

When Liverpool have made statement signings before – Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker – it has worked a treat.

So, signing someone of Sancho’s qualities would potentially have a similar impact and more than definitely send out a message to their rivals.

But will FSG, after their failed European Super League bid, put their hand in their pockets and back Jurgen Klopp in the way that they should?
