Joe Willock posted on Bukayo Saka’s Instagram ‘you are the man’ after Arsenal beat Watford 3-2 on Sunday.
Arsenal’s thriving Hale-End star scored and assisted for his side, as they moved into fourth place in the Premier League table.
After the game, Saka posted on Instagram that those three points ‘takes us closer to achieving our goals’, as Willock posted in the comments section ‘yeah, you are the man’.
After struggles at the start of the season, Willock is also starting to pick up his form and goalscoring touch in Newcastle colours.
The Magpies couldn’t win a game for months and months, but now they are unbeaten in the Premier League since December.
Whilst Newcastle will be worrying less about relegation now, their paths with Arsenal will cross on the penultimate week of the season.
By then, Eddie Howe’s side may well be in a position where they are well and truly safe.
In truth, it might not bode well for Mikel Arteta and his players because they will still probably be in the fight to secure fourth spot.
They are one point clear of fifth-placed Manchester United – and with games in hand – but all of that can change pretty quickly.
Either way, Arsenal’s academy isn’t just shining bright in London, but as Willock is starting to prove, it’s also doing bits in the north east.
