Leeds United snapped up Yosuke Ideguchi in January.
Leeds United-owned Yosuke Ideguchi has told Marca that he is getting used to new club Cultural Leonesa following his January loan move, as he prepares to start his Whites career this summer.
Ideguchi, 21, emerged as one of the top stars in his native Japan after impressing with Gamba Osaka, and his displays triggered interest in his signature.
The midfielder penned a deal with Leeds in January following a lengthy pursuit of his signature, though his work permit situation means that the Whites have loaned him straight out.
Ideguchi was sent to feeder club Cultural Leonesa until the end of the season, just like summer signing Ouasim Bouy until the midfielder was sent back to Elland Road in January.
So far, Ideguchi has made five appearances for Segunda side Leonesa, but totalled just 107 minutes of playing time as he adjusts to life in Spain.
Ideguchi is poised to return to Leeds this summer to prepare for next season, and the Whites will hope to see him feature more prominently before he heads back to Elland Road to feature under Paul Heckingbottom.
Now, Ideguchi has discussed his adjustment to life in Spain, telling Marca that he is getting used to his new surroundings ‘little by little’, though it has been difficult for him to adapt to the change in times of meals.
Ideguchi added that his teammates have made him feel welcome despite the language barrier, suggesting that he is enjoying his time with the club despite his lack of first-team football so far.
“Little by little I am getting used to Cultural and, above all, to the city,” said Ideguchi. “What has been most difficult is the change in the schedule of meals and dinners. My teammates come to me and make me feel as one with them and I appreciate that. I train with them in the mornings and in the afternoons I like to go for a walk,” he added.
