Lorimer impressed
Leeds United legend Peter Lorimer says that Giuseppe Bellusci and Mirco Antenucci have impressed him since singing.
The two summer signings have made a positive impression at Elland Road and they are wining over fans and former players alike with their displays.
“Guiseppe Bellusci impressed me on Saturday. He’s very strong and got his goal and is a typical Italian defender; no-nonsense,” Lorimer wrote in the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“Mirco Antenucci was also a bit unlucky and on another day, might have got two or three goals. He is not a traditional British style centre forward who is big and strong. He is a footballer who has clever touches with a bit of pace and is a bit different to what we usually get in this country. He’s impressed me.”
Injury blow for Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have been dealt a blow as Kamil Zayatte has been ruled out for two months.
The central-defender picked up an injury to his hamstring against Ipswich Town and it will still be quite some time until he recovers.
“I would think Kamil is going to be out for a minimum of six to eight weeks,” Gray told the Sheffield Star.
“It is a blow. Some players heal faster than others so hopefully Kamil will be back sooner rather than later.”
Powell wants goals
Chris Powell is determined to get goals all across his Huddersfield Town squad.
The Terriers boss wants the squad to share the goalscoring burden around, rather than rely on star striker Nahki Wells to fire them to success.
“You’re looking for double figures from your strikers, and Nahki is well on his way,” Powell said to the Examiner.
“But you have to get goals from other sources as well. You need the midfielders to be chipping in.”
Expectation magnified at Sheffield United
Nigel Clough insists that expectations within the camp remain realistic and it only outside influences which put pressure on the side.
Sheffield United have been tipped for promotion this season, but have started slowly, however, Clough says that his squad are not getting panicked.
“The expectation is magnified from the outside, rather than the inside – we don’t get carried away when we win a few games and, consequently, we don’t when we lose a few, either,” he told the Sheffield Telegraph.
