Jack Marriott has been linked with Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest, and it will not come as a surprise if striker leaves Peterborough United in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, Championship trio Leeds, Forest and Wednesday are interested in signing Marriott from Peterborough in the summer transfer window.

Jack Marriott of Peterborough United tangles with Adrien Silva of Leicester City during the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Roundat ABAX Stadium on January 27, 2018 in Peterborough, England.

The 23-year-old striker has scored 27 goals in 44 League One appearances for The Posh this season, and it is hard to see him stay at the ABAX Stadium beyond the summer.

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony recently suggested to The Peterborough Telegraph that the 23-year-old could leave this summer, and there was yet another sign this weekend that the former Luton Town star could be sold.

Marriott was left out of Peterborough’s starting lineup for their final League One game of the season against Portsmouth away from home on Saturday afternoon.

The former Ipswich Town striker did not even come as a substitute against Portsmouth, as the visiting team lost 2-0.

Perhaps The Posh kept the striker out of the starting lineup to ensure that he does not get injured in what was a meaningless game for them.

After all, an injured Marriott would not fetch as much transfer fee as a fully-fit Marriott would.
