Everton fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate after the club announced that they had received planning permission for a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
A community-led legacy project was also unanimously agreed on by the Liverpool City Council.
The decision came after a two-hour meeting led by Everton CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale and Stadium Development Director Colin Chong.
Now, this is massive news for the Toffees in what has already been a historic week for them.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side managed to record their first win over Liverpool at Anfield since 1999 on Saturday evening with a 2-0 win.

Now, the club have taken a gigantic leap in their mission to move into a brand new 52,888-seater stadium on the Merseyside waterfront.
This is simply huge news. It signals a big step in Everton’s journey to once again becoming a regular European competitor, and hopefully, a title challenger.
Things on the pitch are looking good, as Ancelotti currently has the Toffees sat in seventh, just five points off the Champions League places.

The playing staff is also looking serious nowadays, with a world-class talent in James Rodriguez pulling the strings as one of Europe’s most in-form strikers, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, spearheads the side.
What a time to be an Everton fan!
