Many West Ham United fans appear pleased that Mark Noble is set to sign a new contract with the club.
TalkSPORT reported that Noble is going to pen a one-year extension to his current deal at the London Stadium.
Noble’s importance to West Ham’s starting line-up may have decreased this season, with the experienced midfielder now only playing a covering role.
But, after years of service, West Ham supporters generally still feel that keeping Noble around is the best course of action.
Noble will surely realise that if he does pen a new deal he may not be a regular starter.
However, his experience and his influence in the dressing room could be very important.
If West Ham do make it into Europe next term, which looks a real possibility, they will need to add depth to their squad, and keeping Noble around to rotate into their team could therefore be key.
Noble will hope to celebrate the news of his new deal with a victory this evening, when his side take on Leeds United.
