Everton fans have taken to Twitter in delight after Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Toffees are in advanced talks to sign Max Aarons.

The Italian journalist claims that Everton started negotiations for the 11-cap England Under-21 international back in February.

Now, talks are progressing well between the Toffees and Norwich, with Everton leading the race for the right-back’s signature.

Aarons is very highly-rated, to say the least.

As the Independent claim, Barcelona tried to sign him in 2020, while Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest in his services.

The Independent added that West Ham are also keen on the London-born defender.

Romano doesn’t mention any specific fee. However, the Independent state that Norwich want at least £30 million for Aarons, so he won’t come cheap.

However, Everton would be getting good value given his age, just like they did with Ben Godfrey – a former teammate of Aarons.

At 21, the Englishman has the potential to be the heir to Seamus Coleman’s throne at Goodison Park.

The Norwich No.2 is one of the brightest young right-backs in England.

If Marcel Brands can get this one over the line, it would be one of his finest signings for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, in our view.

Let’s see how the Everton fans on Twitter reacted to Romano’s revelation…
