Liverpool fans are generally pleased after it was claimed in the Liverpool Echo that Takumi Minamino is expected to return to Anfield after his loan spell at Southampton.
The Echo say that Liverpool have offered no indication that Minamino won’t be given a second chance to get his career on Merseyside off the ground.
And Liverpool supporters are generally pleased with the development, as they feel that the Japanese international could have something to offer them.
Minamino was brought in at Liverpool well over a year ago now, but he never quite was able to make the grade.
Despite showing flashes of quality, Jurgen Klopp only ever really viewed him as an impact substitute, rather than a starter.
Minamino has started brightly on loan at Southampton though, which offers encouragement that he may still be able to make an impact with the Reds.
There may also be an opportunity for Minamino to impress at Anfield next term.
Klopp’s side are set to cash in on Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri (Liverpool Echo), which means that Liverpool’s attacking options will be reduced.
