Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react after Matty Cash posted an update on his injury yesterday evening.

The £16 million man damaged his hamstring when performing a Cruyff-turn on the halfway line against Brighton, as Dean Smith told the Birmingham Mail.

As a result, the 23-year-old missed the 2-1 defeat to Leicester, and also the 1-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.

However, he could soon be back after his two-word update on Twitter.

The former Nottingham Forest man wrote ‘back soon’ while also posting a photo of himself in training, causing the Villa fans to celebrate.

It’s no wonder they’re happy with this news, as Cash has been simply brilliant so far this season.

In what is his first taste of the Premier League, Villa’s No.2 has started 21 games for the Villans, recording two assists in that time.

WhoScored shows that Cash registers some excellent defensive numbers.

He makes 2.6 tackles and 2.3 interceptions per game, while also completing 3.1 clearances every 90 minutes in England’s top-flight.

With all due respect, his backup – Ahmed Elmohamady – isn’t as good as the Englishman, so Smith will want Cash back as soon as possible.

Let’s see how the Villa fans reacted to the defender’s encouraging tweet…
