Many Aston Villa fans are excited over reports that Sander Berge could be on their wishlist.
EuroSport suggests that Villa are keeping an eye on the Sheffield United midfielder, as they weigh up a summer move.
It is widely expected that Berge will leave Bramall Lane at the end of the season, if they are relegated.
And Villa supporters are hoping that the Norwegian ends up in the Midlands, as they feel he could bolster their squad.
Villa already have a number of midfield options, with Morgan Sanson joining in January.
However, with Ross Barkley’s future uncertain, Berge could become an option.
Berge, of course, is a more defensive option than Barkley, but he does have the ability to get forward and join attacks too.
It is most likely that Berge would be purchased as a covering option by Smith, but his showings at Sheffield United have proven that he can perform well at the very top level.
