Fabrizio Romano has said on Chris Cowlin’s Youtube channel that Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager will be in place before the European Championships.
Tottenham managerial search has now extended to 45 days, after Jose Mourinho’s departure.
The exceptionally slow progress has frustrated Spurs fans, who are worried that the club are showing a lack of urgency over finding a replacement for Mourinho.
But it seems that Tottenham supporters’ patience will not be tested for much longer.
Romano was asked whether Tottenham would have a manager in place before this summer’s major international tournament.
And he said: “Yes, before the Euro’s.”
Cowlin was quick to pick up on Romano’s claim, saying: “You seem very definite on that..”
“Yes, yes, yes,” Romano responded. “They are not happy with the situation, Daniel Levy wanted to find a manager before but timing is key. Spending one month without a manager, another would be crazy. They want to decide in the next days. Before the Euro’s, yes.”
Get it sorted
If Tottenham are to get their manager tied down before the Euro’s then they will have to work quickly.

Italy take on Turkey in the competition’s first game in just nine days’ time.
At the moment it appears that Mauricio Pochettino is very much Tottenham’s first choice.
However, any deal with PSG is proving complicated – and to iron out their difficulties within a limited time-frame could prove difficult for Daniel Levy.
Tottenham do need to find a way to get a new manager in charge sooner rather than later though, otherwise they risk falling behind their Premier League rivals, who are already able to plan for next year.
