Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to demand the return of Georginio Wijnaldum, after Sky Sports shared an update on the Dutchman.
What’s the story?
Well, Sky Sports believe Paris Saint-Germain are willing to let Wijnaldum leave the Parc des Princes on loan in January.
The 31-year-old is open to a Premier League return, and according to AS, Newcastle have already made contact with his representatives.
It comes after Wijnaldum experienced a mixed start to life under Mauricio Pochettino, starting seven Ligue 1 games, but also making seven appearances as a substitute.
The Netherlands international is far from being a vital player for the Parisians.
Sky Sports add that Arsenal are an option for Wijnaldum, but it seems as if the Toon Army are desperate to have him back at St James’ Park.
In our view, he would be a fantastic addition, as the Magpies never really replaced his ability to arrive late in the box and get on the scoresheet.
Gini Wijnaldum return would be perfect for Newcastle

If Eddie Howe can secure a loan deal for Wijnaldum, it would almost be the perfect January signing for the Magpies in their current situation.
Having already played on Tyneside, the Dutchman wouldn’t need any time to adjust to the Premier League, nor life at Newcastle.
Therefore, he would be in a position to make an immediate impact.
Furthermore, if the worst case scenario happens and Newcastle are relegated, they wouldn’t be lumbered with a high earner if Wijnaldum was only on loan.

However, should Howe lead them to survival, they would be in a solid position to discuss a permanent return thanks to the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia’s riches.
For now, let’s see what the Newcastle fans on Twitter have been saying about Wijnaldum, following the update from Sky Sports…
