Boubacar Kamara has posted on his Instagram that he is ‘back on the pitch’ after returning to Aston Villa training following a knee injury.

The France international returns in time for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next month, after injuring his knee in September during Villa’s 1-0 win over Southampton.

In the comments section of Kamara’s post, Douglas Luiz posted ‘Yes Bouba’ added with a heart emoji, whilst Jordan Amavi also reacted to his return and several Villa fans expressed their delight.

NEW MANAGER AT THE HELM

A lot has changed since Kamara has been on the sidelines, including Villa sacking Steven Gerrard, the man who played a huge role in the defensive-minded midfielder joining the club from Marseille in the summer.

It’s Unai Emery, the former Arsenal boss, who will now don the Villa Park dugout after he left his post at La Liga aide, Villarreal.

Villa will play in-form and Champions League-chasing Newcastle United on Saturday, before a double-header against Manchester United.

Those are the games Kamara will be targeting, starting with a home clash, in the Premier League, before a trip to Old Trafford for their League Cup encounter.

Emery won’t actually officially take charge of his first game until after November 1, so Kamara’s first game could be against Manchester United in the Premier League.

Either way, there will be a real buzz and change of mood around the place, just like there was on Sunday when Aaron Danks guided the team to a stunning 4-0 win over Brentford.

Inside 15 minutes, the game was finished because the Midlands outfit were 3-0 up, only days after getting well and truly thrashed by Fulham.
