Everton’s Marcel Brands intimated recently that Clement Lenglet was his priority this summer – and Yerry Mina must use that admission as motivation.

Everton made big headlines this past summer for their brilliant transfer window.
The Toffees pulled off some superb deals, including a £40 million purchase of Richarlison from Watford and getting Andre Gomes and Kurt Zouma on loan from Barcelona and Chelsea respectively.
But the pick of the bunch might well be South American centre-back Yerry Mina.
Everton spent on £27 million [Goal.com] on taking the Colombia international to Goodison Park from Barca after a brilliant World Cup in Russia.
The Premier League club’s Director of Football Marcel Brands revealed to The Liverpool Echo that he moved for Mina after Clement Lenglet, his other target, joined the Catalans in a £32 million deal.
Lenglet is exceptional but although it might seem like Mina was second best, he must prove to Everton that they are better off with him than the man who nudged him toward the exit at Camp Nou.
Mina won’t make his debut for the Goodison Park side against Southampton today due a foot problem, manager Marco Silva confirmed on Friday, but he must hit the ground running when he does come in.
The 23-year-old struggled in a big way since joining Barcelona back in January, but he must turn over a new leaf at Everton and use Brands’s admission as motivation to spur him on.
