If Yerry Mina arrives at Tottenham Hotspur, then the World Cup should make Spurs fans very excited about what the Barcelona man could do.

According to The Sun, Tottenham are interested in snapping up Mina, as they want to bolster their defensive options.

And there is no reason why Mina could not have a similar impact at Spurs as Harry Maguire has for England at the World Cup.

Yerry Mina of FC Barcelona conducts the ball during the La Liga match between Barcelona and Getafe at Camp Nou on February 11, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

Spurs right-back Kieran Trippier has been tasked with taking most of the Three Lions’ set-pieces in Russia, and a large quantity of them have been aimed at Maguire.

Maguire has gone on to win everything in the air, and even scored in England’s last match against Sweden.

The centre-back has looked a real attacking weapon, and Mina also showed his goalscoring prowess during his time with Colombia at the international tournament.

Mina scored three times for Colombia after a series of aerially dominant displays, and if Spurs were to use Trippier’s set-piece delivery to aim at the centre-back then it could be a major offensive weapon.

Mina would have the potential to be a huge threat from dead-ball situations, and the rumours of Tottenham’s interest should excite supporters of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
