Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has told Football.London that Son Heung-min is available for the match against Newcastle United.

Spurs will take on Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Son has recovered from his injury and has trained with his Spurs teammates, and Mourinho has said that the South Korea international forward is available for the game against the Magpies.

Mourinho told Football.London about Son on Friday: “Good. Sonny’s good. Yeah. He will be selected. Yep. He was injured. He trained with the team fully for the first time this morning.

“Yesterday he was coming to do partial exercises, not a complete session. This morning was the first time he did it and last week he didn’t train at all. So it was completely impossible for him to play in the international period.”

Good news for Tottenham Hotspur fans

Son suffered a hamstring injury against Arsenal in the North London derby and did not travel on international duty with South Korea.

However, the 28-year-old has now recovered, and it seems that the former Bayer Leverkusen star could even start against Newcastle.

It is very good news for Spurs, who are still very much in the running for the Champions League places in the Premier League table and need players like Son to be fit and firing to finish in the top four.

The 28-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 28 Premier League games for Spurs so far this season, according to WhoScored.
