Pedro Chirivella and Adebayo Akinfenwa have loved what Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has posted on Instagram in regards to his injury.
The 18-year-old posted the words ‘step by step’ and ‘day by day’, as he added the caption with a picture of him on an exercise bike.
Nantes midfielder and ex-Liverpool man, Chirivella, posted in the comments section ‘A step closer’, whilst Wycombe striker and Reds fan, Akinfenwa simply wrote: ‘Yeah, yeah’.
It’s great news for Liverpool supporters and the possibility that Elliott could be back on the field before the season draws to a close.
There hasn’t been a time frame put on the teenager’s ankle injury, but it does seem as though the incident that occurred at Leeds could have been a lot worse given what happened.
But what is one man’s loss is another man’s gain because, in his absence, Curtis Jones is reminding supporters about his talents.
When Elliott was getting picked in the XI, Jones found himself on the bench, but during the past week or so, the Anfield academy product has scored one goal and supplied four assists.
That included three assists in the Champions League against Porto.
Nonetheless, for Elliott, during his road to recovery, he will no doubt get the much-needed support from those inside and outside of Merseyside.
Plus, he can lean on the likes of Virgil van Dijk, who around this time last season, was trying to pick himself back up from a long-term injury.
