Yaya Toure’s agent has put the Premier League’s top six on red alert after claiming the Ivorian would be willing to join any of them for just £1 per week.

Toure, one of Manchester City’s most decorated players, is out of contract at the Etihad at the end of the month and has been linked to a number of clubs, including West Ham, who are now managed by former City boss Manuel Pellegrini.

But Toure’s agent, Dmitry Selyuk, believes the 35-year-old could still make the grade at the country’s top clubs and could be willing to take a whopping pay cut to prove it.

He told Sport24: “He is full of energy and wants to play this season in England.

“At a time when huge sums are being spent in England, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move on a free agent to any English club of the top six with a salary of one pound a week. But for certain successes to make a bonus system.

“I believe that a player like Yaya would not reject Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool.”

Toure undoubtedly still has a lot to offer despite his age and would be an excellent addition at any top six club.

However, his agent’s claims should be taken with a pinch of salt, considering the former Barcelona ace bagged a weekly wage of £210,000, according to the Telegraph.

While Toure will favour staying in England once his contract in Manchester runs out, a pay cut of an eye-watering £209,999 will certainly look less appealing.
