He stated:
“We were thinking if Tottenham can beat them and then one or two more, who knows?
“Tottenham is a very strong side this year, and they are growing stronger and stronger. They have always been a tough side to play and this year is going to be fantastic.”
Tottenham have been in fine form recently. Mauricio Pochettino’s side won 4-0 v West Brom this weekend – their seventh win in a row in all competitions.
Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen celebrates with team mates after West Bromwich Albion’s Gareth McAuley scored an own goal and their second goal
The resurgent form of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen has been key to that success whilst the formation changes from Pochettino, who has reverted to three at the back, has also proven a big hit for the side.
Tottenham have now moved into second position in the Premier League table whilst Manchester City are currently falling out of contention.
Next up for Toure and City is the fixture against Tottenham next weekend and the way results are going at present it will not be a game City are looking forward to.
Spurs however are on the march, and will feel they can cement title credentials with a win v Pep Guardiola’s men.
