Everton were already struggling to balance the books before Yannick Bolasie returned from Aston Villa.

Yannick Bolasie’s return to Everton could be bad news for their supporters hopes of signings coming in.

Marco Silva went on record to the Guardian to suggest that he had been told Everton were in no financial condition to make new additions this month.

Everton needed to offload players before bringing in new faces in the January transfer window, and it seemed that they had opened up a space in their squad with the departure of Oumar Niasse.

However, Bolasie’s loan has now been cut short, and that has done Everton little favours in their battle to reduce costs.

Bolasie is on a £70,000-a-week contract at Everton (Daily Star), meaning he is now costing them a significant amount every month.

And his return to Goodison Park has just put another obstacle in Everton’s way, if they were looking to bring in new players in in January.
