Yannick Bolasie has taken to Twitter to warn Everton supporters not to ‘sleep’ on prodigious academy prospect Ellis Simms.
The DR Congo international posted the six-word tweet last night, having just praised Arsenal’s own precocious talent Folarin Balogun in a separate tweet.
He described the Gunners striker as an ‘exciting’ player.
However, it is possible that Simms could be even more exciting.
The 19-year-old’s record at youth level for Everton is astonishing.
In 77 appearances for the Toffees – 44 for the Under-18s and 33 for the Under-23s – the Oldham-born striker has netted 56 goals.

In that respect, it comes as absolutely no surprise that the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were said to be eyeing him up.
AS Monaco and Olympique Lyon were also believed to be keen on him, based on a report from back in March 2019.
It definitely doesn’t sound as if Everton are ‘sleeping’ on the teenage forward.

As the Liverpool Echo revealed, Simms has been exposed to first-team training, with David Unsworth stating that coaches are working ‘tirelessly’ with the youngster.
That same report mentioned that the attacker will stay with Everton until at least January, so there’s the chance of a potential loan exit for the starlet next month.
Whether he stays or goes, Simms’ development is certainly worth monitoring.
