Everton’s Yannick Bolasie has told the Telegraph that former boss Alan Pardew warned him he may struggle at the club, as Goodison Park’s pitch is narrower than Selhurst Park’s.
The winger made the move to Merseyside in the summer transfer window as they paid big money to make him a part of Ronald Koeman’s team.
He has been a relative success for the Blues so far, registering four assists and one goal in his first ten games.

More will be expected of him given the big price tag the club paid and he has promised it will come once he adapts to the new pitch, something Pardew warned him about.
“In one of the conversations I had with Alan Pardew before I came here, he did say it would be a challenge because the pitch at Goodison is smaller,” he told the Telegraph.
“He said it would be completely different for me. Right now I am seeing that, but I know once I’ve adapted fully I will show more. I don’t think I’ve shown all I want to show – more at home, maybe.”

With his electric pace, ball skills and eye for a cross, Bolasie is very much one of the Everton players that opponents look to nullify in games.
It can lead to frustration for the winger, who often finds himself up against either two or three opposition defenders.
It is a problem he and his team must find a solution to in order to get the best out of him and he believes if he can, he will become unstoppable.
“Teams are trebling up on me, forcing me to go one way into corners,” he added.
“You could say in some ways it’s a sign of respect but I want to overcome that because if you do, then you can become unstoppable.”
