Yannick Bolasie says that Everton need to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has been quoted as saying by BBC Sport that the club need to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old DR Congo international winger made the comments following the Toffees’ 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Goodison Park on Monday evening.

The Merseyside outfit failed to breach the Red Devils’ citadel in the Premier League and did not have a single shot on target.

It was the Toffees’ second successive defeat in the Premier League, and once again highlighted the club’s need to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

Romelu Lukaku joined United from Everton in the summer of 2017, and the Toffees have failed to replace the Belgium international striker in the team.

Everton winger Bolasie has said that it is obvious that the Toffees need to sign a striker in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old former Bristol City winger has been on the books of Everton since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Crystal Palace for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £25 million.

“It’s been known we probably need a striker,” BBC Sport quotes Bolasie as saying (20:01). “It’s a difficult job for any club to replace Romelu Lukaku. It’s obvious [we need a striker] but I’m not the manager.”
