Yannick Bolasie’s poor form may have opened the door for Henry Onyekuru to make an instant impact at Goodison Park next season.

Onyekuru has become Everton’s forgotten man over the past campaign, as he is still yet to make his debut.

The Nigerian forward was brought to the Toffees last term, but immediately loaned out to Anderlecht.

Onyekuru has impressed in Belgium, with the wide-man playing a key role for Anderlecht.

And the door may be ajar for Onyekuru to make an immediate push for a starting place.

Bolasie has come back from a long-term injury at Everton this term, and not looked half the player he was before the set-back.

While Bolasie may be better with a full pre-season behind him, there are some concerns about the £25 million signing from Crystal Palace’s form.

Bolasie just hasn’t injected the quality that Everton fans were expecting since returning, and that means Onyekuru could have a chance of take his place.

Of course, the 20-year-old would have to impress over pre-season to do so.

But he will arrive at Everton with confidence, after hitting 10 goals in 29 appearances this season.

And he could yet prove a very valuable addition for Everton in future seasons.
