Everton boss Marco Silva decided to send Yannick Bolasie out on loan in the summer.

Yannick Bolasie has told the Birmingham Mail that he did not partake in any pre-season at Everton.
Bolasie was loaned out to Aston Villa for the campaign at the end of August, with Marco Silva deeming the winger to be surplus to requirements at Everton.
But Bolasie was not able to show the Portuguese boss what he could do back at Goodison Park, as his fitness levels were not good enough.
“I didn’t have a pre-season. I didn’t do anything,” he said.
“Me coming to Villa, at the start with no pre-season so I had to build myself up, always meant it would be a slow start.
“But I’m getting there slowly.”
Bolasie missed much of last season at Everton with injury, and only came back towards the end of the campaign.

It appears that the trickster had not fully recovered from his fitness issues though, and it has taken him time to make any sort of impression at Villa.
Bolasie still has not started a game since leaving Everton on loan, with Dean Smith’s side often only able to use him from the substitutes bench.
Bolasie has two goals for Villa to date, and it is not yet clear whether he has any future at Everton, when he does return.
