The Everton winger scored in the 2-1 defeat to Burnley.
Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has told BBC Sport it was about time that Romelu Lukaku gave him a goal after his strike against Burnley.
The Blues traveled to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon looking to get back to winning ways after three games without a victory.
It proved to be another disappointing afternoon for them, though, as a last-gasp strike from Scott Arfield saw the home side take all three points.
Bolasie had managed to get himself on the scoresheet earlier in the game, levelling Sam Vokes’ scrappy opener with a superb solo effort.
That goal saw him taking the ball away from teammate Lukaku and he says the striker owed it to him.
“It’s about time he gave me one, to be honest. I’m grateful we scored but I’m disappointed,” he told BBC Sport.
“That’s only the second loss of the season but we should at least have taken a draw.”
The game was one that Ronald Koeman’s side should never have lost after dominating throughout. They enjoyed 66% of the possession in total while also registering a huge 20 shots, eight of which they got on target.
Much like they did to Manchester City the week before, though, Burnley sat deep and frustrated the visitors, with goalkeeper Tom Heaton in particularly strong form.
And Bolasie has begrudgingly admitted that such a defeat is the nature of football.
“The week you deserve to lose you don’t and the week you deserve to win you end up losing. That’s football,” he added.
