Yannick Bolasie gives 4-word verdict on Aston Villa controversy today

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the controversial penalty incident during Aston Villa’s game today.

Villa have suffered a 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at Villa Park in the Premier League today.

In the second minute of injury time, Dean Smith’s side had the chance to equalise and pick up a point from the encounter.

Solly March was initially adjudged to have committed a foul on Trezeguet inside the box. However, referee Michael Oliver consulted the pitchside monitor and decided that it was not a penalty.

Bolasie, who had a loan spell at Villa from Everton in 2018-19, has given his take on Twitter on the controversial incident.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, hosts Villa had 55% of the possession, took 15 shots of which four were on target, and earned 12 corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Brighton had 45% of the possession, took seven shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.

Brighton ended the game with 10 men due to the dismissal of Tariq Lamptey in the first minute of injury time.
