Quoted by the London Evening Standard, new Everton signing Yannick Bolasie has explained how watching Arsenal legend Thierry Henry inspired him to become a winger.
Bolasie is one of four new signings at Goodison Park this summer, arriving in a big money move from Crystal Palace.
His move marks the next step in an impressive rise through the leagues for the Democratic of Congo international, who has established himself as a Premier League star with the Eagles over the last few years.

His career started in the lower leagues and he has explained how watching Thierry Henry inspired him to become a winger, and presumably take the number 14 shirt for the Blues.
“[As a kid] I’d watch Thierry Henry taking on defenders for Arsenal and that’s what I wanted to do,” the London Evening Standard reports him saying.
“Taking on defenders is what gives me a buzz. I’ve played as a winger all of my professional life and I’m looking forward to doing that now in front of the Everton fans.”

It now remains to be seen if Bolasie can take the next step at Everton, who have shown great faith by paying such a big fee for him.
There is no denying he has to improve, with him only managing 12 goals in 113 league games for Palace, a tally far below where a player of his talent should be.
With better players at Goodison Park though, there is every chance that he will show serious improvement in that area this season.
