Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has told Sky Sports that he is ‘alive and kicking’ if there is even a 1% chance of him leaving the club.
The Toffees splashed £30million to sign Bolasie from Crystal Palace in 2016, with Steve Walsh luring him to Goodison Park in a big-money move.
The winger showed promising signs early on, but suffered a major knee injury in December 2016, and he has never really recovered from that.
Bolasie has managed just 16 Premier League appearances for Everton since his injruy, and has spent time out on loan at Aston Villa, Anderlecht and Sporting.
The 31-year-old saw a loan move to Middlesbrough fall through last month, and he now faces being on the Everton sidelines until January.
Bolasie clearly has no future at Everton, and he has now spoken about his situation as he valiantly trains away and attempts to either impress Carlo Ancelotti or get himself fit for a move.
Bolasie claims being left out of Everton’s Premier League squad was disappointing, but he isn’t counting himself out at Goodison Park.
The DR Congo international added that if there is even 1% chance of him getting a move away from the club, he is ‘alive and kicking’ as he looks to find a new club.
“It was disappointing,” said Bolasie about his Everton omission. “I continue to keep working and to play and train to the best of my ability. That’s what I’m doing right now. I’m not counting myself out, and I believe that eventually my talent will come out – wherever it’s with and wherever I am. I believe in what I’m doing, and I feel I’m doing myself justice.”
“Whenever I’ve been backed into a corner, I’ve always thrived. I believe that whatever happens, I will come out stronger and will show everyone what I can still do. Even if there’s just that one per cent chance of a move, I’m alive and kicking,” he added.
