Yankuba Minteh has revealed that he wants to sign for Newcastle United amid recent interest from the Magpies in the teenager.
Speaking to Bold, the Danish Superlig wonderkid admitted that he wants a move to Eddie Howe’s side following a reported from Sport Fyn that claimed that Newcastle were close to signing Minteh as their first summer recruit.
The Odense BK star said: “I am ready to take the next step, and it will only be good for me. Of course, I want to go to Newcastle. It’s a big club in the Premier League and they’re doing something good. They are fighting for a place in the Champions League.”

Likened to Lionel Messi by Odense academy manager Tonny Hermansen, Minteh is one of the brightest talents coming out of Scandinavia and a player who could soon become a superstar in the European game, with Newcastle seemingly winning the race for the teenager.
A versatile winger with three goals and six assists in just 13 senior appearances this season, it’s easy to see why Newcastle have moved quickly to sign Minteh, with the Magpies keen to add the forward to their growing ranks of worldwide wonderkids.
Indeed, the Toon landed Australian sensation Garang Kuol in the January window, and with Minteh now on the verge of joining Newcastle, Howe and his team are making steps in the right direction to future-proof the squad with world-class youngsters.
Newcastle supporters should be excited with Minteh signing

Minteh has all the makings of becoming a top player in the near future, and with Newcastle pulling the trigger to sign the Zambia-born talent, supporters should be very excited about what’s to come from the 18-year-old attacker.
Howe has proved that he is an excellent coach at developing players well beyond what they’re capable of, and Minteh could become a key man for Newcastle if the English coach is able to get the best out of the teenage forward.
