Former Liverpool prospect Andy Firth has taken to Twitter to express his delight at joining Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers.

As announced on Rangers’ official website today, Firth has signed an 18-month contract with the Gers.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper started his club football career at Liverpool and worked with Rangers boss Gerrard during his spell as the Under-18 coach at the Reds.

The youngster has taken to Twitter to express his delight at joining Rangers, and has received some positive messages from 20-year-old Swansea City attacker Yan Dhanda and 21-year-old Liverpool-owned Derby County winger Harry Wilson.

Dhanda, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, joined Swansea in the summer of 2018 after leaving Liverpool.

Wilson – who earns £4,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – moved to Derby in the Championship on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Liverpool in the summer of 2018.

According to a report on talkSPORT in July 2018, Rangers – and their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic – wanted to sign Wilson from Liverpool in the summer of 2018.
