One Manchester City prospect is still uncertain about what his future holds at the club and has admitted he does not know if he will be at the Etihad Stadium for pre-season.

Manchester City are set for an important summer transfer market as Pep Guardiola bids to win the club’s fifth Premier League title in a row, which would extend their impressive record in England’s top division.

This summer, there could well be a raft of change in the City first team with HITC reporting that goalkeeper Ederson is considering his options as the Saudi Pro League are prepared to offer him £500,000 a week.

Kalvin Phillips’ future at the club is also uncertain, this is after the Englishman had a rather disastrous spell in West Ham United. However, it is another City player who is unsure of his future.

City player admits that he does not know where his future lies

Yan Couto has not made a single appearance for City since his move to the club in 2020 and his future in Manchester looks to be unclear.

Speaking to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Couto has opened up about his future in England and the player who helped him settle in England the most.

“With Guardiola, I did pre-season in 2021 with City, he liked me a lot, Fernandinho helped me a lot,” Couto explained.

“It was good, it was nice. It’s a club that has helped me grow a lot in many ways, that gives very good support and is growing not just the club, but the group. I think their project is great and we’ll see what’s in store for us next season. We’ll see everything after the Copa América.”

Couto’s brilliant season in La Liga but City prepared to cash in

As mentioned, City signed Couto for around £4 million from Brazilian side Coritiba back in 2020 but he has excelled recently for Girona.

Under Spaniard Michel, Girona had an outstanding season as the club, who are part of the City Football Group, as they finished third place in La Liga.

Last season for Girona, the Brazilian defender netted once in La Liga and provided a further eight assists.

Despite how well he played during his time a Girona, HITC understands the Premier League champions are now ready to cash in on the Brazilian talent.
