Izan Guevara is reportedly set to join Moto2 rivals David Alonso and Dani Holgado in moving up to MotoGP in 2027.
Alonso is expected to join the Honda factory team next year, teaming up with Fabio Quartararo. Ducati had also shown strong interest in signing the Colombian rider.
Holgado, meanwhile, is expected to sign with Gresini, who are close to extending their contract with Ducati. Nadia Padovani needs two new riders after Fermin Aldeguer’s reported move to VR46 and Alex Marquez’s switch to KTM.
Pramac MotoGP seat in 2027 lined up for Izan Guevara

Reports from Sky Italy indicate that Guevara is expected to join Alonso and Holgado in making the step up to MotoGP next year, marking a significant influx of talent from Moto2.
Fabio Quartararo’s expected move to Honda would leave a vacancy at Yamaha, which Jorge Martin is widely tipped to fill after his switch from Aprilia.
Guevara, meanwhile, has been linked with Pramac. He has spent time with the Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team since 2025 and is now seen as a natural fit for their MotoGP setup.
Alex Rins’ contract expires at the end of the year, and there are increasing signs that he might not be offered a new deal.
If Toprak Razgatlioglu moves into the factory Yamaha team as expected, Pramac would be Guevara’s likely landing spot. With Jack Miller looking secure in his seat, Guevara would have an experienced rider alongside him.
The option of bringing in young talent straight into the official squad hasn’t been dismissed by Yamaha. But Razgatlioglu is making a case for himself following his first point scored in the United States. That could see him pair up with Jorge Martin instead.
How is Izan Guevara doing in Moto2 this season?
Guevara, who won the 2022 Moto3 title, is now into his fourth year in Moto2.
He struggled early on, finishing 22nd and then 17th in his first two seasons. But things turned around last year when he closed out the season with a win in Valencia.
That victory earned him an invite to the post-season MotoGP test, a strong indication that teams were starting to take notice of his potential for 2027.
So far in 2026, Guevara has looked sharp. He’s picked up podiums in Thailand and the United States and finished sixth in Brazil – his best run of form to date.
As it stands, he’s second in the standings, only 3.5 points off Gonzalez. If he keeps this up, a step up to MotoGP will start looking inevitable.
