Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and QPR will both be desperate to get wins in their relegation fight ahead of the final weekend.
Of course you guys will have read part one, where we have detailed all the top scorers from Gameweek 36, from Rafael van der Vaart to Fernando Torres.
So let’s get straight into our tips for the remaining matches, starting with Bolton v West Brom.
Kevin Davies has been poor all season, but scored in both Bolton’s matches over the past week, and with everything riding on this game will be worth a look here. Martin Petrov will also be dangerous for the home side. Bolton have struggled at home this season though and Roy Hodgson will be keen his side get a result. For West Brom the dangerman as ever will be Peter Odemwingie, their most reliable source of goals.
Fulham v Sunderland is one of those end of season games where both sides seemingly have little to play for, and could drift off into a 0-0. At the same time, Fulham can go above Liverpool with a win, and Sunderland don’t travel well, so the incentive is there if they want to take it. Clint Dempsey has gone four games without a goal and this could be his last ever home game if he leaves in the summer. Time to bow out with a goal?
QPR v Stoke is a game we can see going the R’s way, they simply have to win. Stoke’s form has been meandering over the last month especially away from home. Adel Taarabt returns from suspension and he is our key man in this one.
Blackburn for Wigan is our headline game, a clash which could see Rover relegated if they lose, and Wigan secure survival. Wigan are on form, and Blackburn are not, but we believe Rovers will dig deep to find a result as they did in their last home game against Norwich. Yakubu has been terrific this year and we can see him scoring twice. Shaun Maloney and Victor Moses remain Wigan’s key players and are in fine form so worth consideration.
Liverpool play Chelsea in the FA Cup Final on Saturday, so it is difficult to predict how their Premier League clash at Anfield next Tuesday night will play out. Didier Drogba looks good for a start at Wembley, meaning Di Matteo will likely put in Fernando Torres against his former club. Liverpool will likely start Maxi Rodriguez, a regular source of goals, and he could be worth a punt.
