It’s been a great time to be a Tottenham Hotspur youngster, with 16-year-old Dane Scarlett making his first-team debut last week.
Scarlett came on against Ludogorets on Thursday, and other Spurs youngsters will be looking on and believing they can follow suit.
One of the top young players in the Spurs ranks is Yago Santiago, who Tottenham snapped up from Celta Vigo in 2019.
Excitement was building over the teenager back in May, as he scored a superb goal in training, beating a defender and goalkeeper with quick feet to score.
Santiago scored against Arsenal in an Under-18 game back in September as he and Scarlett bagged in a 2-0 win, and Santiago has now taken the next step.
The 17-year-old made his debut for Tottenham’s Under-23’s on Monday, coming on as a substitute for 11 minutes against Leicester City.
Spurs lost the game 5-1, but Santiago making his debut at that level is an exciting step, with real hope that he can become a first-team player in the future.
Santiago took to Twitter to admit he was disappointed with the result, but happy to make his Premier League 2 debut as his progression continues at Tottenham.
